JEFFCO IS BUILDING A COUNTYWIDE HOMELESS NAVIGATOR PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HEADING HOME JEFFCO.

Each city in Jeffco is hiring a Homeless Navigator, overseen by the Jeffco Regional Homeless Coordinator, to focus on identifying and connecting those experiencing homelessness with available resources, services, and benefits. Golden is hiring a Homeless Navigator in partnership with Wheat Ridge and Edgewater.

In 2019 more than 2,700 students were identified as being homeless in Jeffco Public Schools

Jefferson County Site

A subcommittee of Jeffco Connections that functions as a collaboration of local non-profits, governments, faith-based organizations, and interested residents who work on developing solutions to homelessness in Jeffco. They are revising the Jeffco Homelessness Action Plan during Summer/Fall 2020.

Metro Denver Homeless Initiative

Total count was 444 persons in Jeffco experiencing homelessness on January 27, 2020

444 homeless parties

  • 56 reported as families

  • 35 reported as veterans

  • 8 reported being under 25 without a parent or guardian

  • 162 reported as unsheltered

  • 133 were in an emergency shelter

  • 149 were in transitional housing

2019 Comprehensive Homeless Count, Jefferson County, Colorado
In Golden there were 42 people and across Jeffco there were 997 people experiencing homelessness in August 2019.
